I don't want to take anything away from the # of recommendations here, but this is all a shell game of timing and reply activity which dictate where in the waterfall of kinja comments your post lands. It's confounded me multiple times.

I'm not trying to get a PR every time I post something, and I'd say 95% of my FP posts are useless snark and usually contain GIFs. However, I've seen one of my posts have fewer recommendations than others, but it'll sit higher in the stack because it has more replies. And then once it settled into its position, I got more and more hits on it just because of where it was perched. It's a goofy system which weights the importance of some things well above others. Hell, the inclusion of an image may even influence this for all I know.

But haha I promise I am not trying to shit all over your RS6. Just had to rant there for a sec. I even clicked it just now!
